Giant Koala Bear
The “Giant Koala Bear” or Phascolarctos stirtoni existed during the Pleistocene period (or 2.588 million to 11 550 years before present).
Of course, they don’t exist anymore, but this proves that the Koala bear did exist before us “humans” did.
Scientific studies state that the Giant Koala Bear was about one third larger than today’s Koala bear, though it weighed roughly around the same (29 lbs, or 13 kg).
The study also said the two koala bear species (giant and contemporary Koala bear) co-existed during the Pleistocene period.
Sadly, the reason for the extinction of the larger of the two is unknown (extinct at about 50,000 years ago).
